Mary Anne Aylward
Director of Clinical Education
Biography
Ms. Aylward began her career in 1990 at Critical Care at Jacobi Hospital. In 1998, she was the chief physician assistant and course instructor for North Central Bronx’s Critical Care master’s program for PAs, then transitioned to a critical care PA and first assist in GI and bronchoscopy procedures. She has served on many committees including interprofessional committees for the ICU, Quality and Insurance for the Department of Medicine, and the Morbidity and Mortality committee.
Ms. Aylward was a clinical coordinator and assistant professor from 2013-2020 at the Mercy College Physician Assistant program. She served as the chair for the Physician Assistant Interprofessional Education Committee and as a member on several others, including the Physician Assistant-Pleasantville Curriculum and Accreditation Committee.
In 2020, she became the director of clinical education and associate professor for the ̨ÍåSWAGUniversity-Pleasantville Physician Assistant program. She is a member of the College of Health Professions Interprofessional Education Task Force and teaches in the didactic year to foster critical thinking and decision making.
Ms. Aylward was inducted into the Pi Alpha, The National Honor Society for Physician Assistants, in 2022.
