Laura Delabastide
Biography
Over two decades of practice as a pediatric nurse practitioner in primary care and urgent care have provided me with the clinical expertise and education needed to meet my recent transition to a faculty role in graduate nursing. I believe students must be taught critical thinking skills by providing appropriate experiences and scenarios developed through evidence-based clinical practice while ensuring the attainment of competencies within the Domains for Nursing Education outlined by the AACN. Of equal importance is fostering students' development of emotional intelligence to adequately promote successful, confident, and empathetic nurse practitioners. One of my greatest passions is promoting the health and well-being of infants, children, and the community while serving to develop the same enthusiasm in students.
